What is it like to be in Foster Care?

When children enter foster care, their lives undergo significant changes. They relocate, switch schools, lose contact with friends and neighbors, and even change doctors. Separation from siblings is frequent, and academic setbacks are common. These children often grapple with emotions such as anger, sadness, and confusion, experiencing trauma, anxiety, and loss. They frequently ask themselves, “Why is this happening to me? What did I do wrong? What will happen next?” It’s crucial to provide them with stability and support during these challenging transitions.

As the director of our foster care service program, I am proud to say that we have created a supportive and nurturing environment for the children in our care. Our dedicated team of professionals works tirelessly to ensure that each child receives individualized attention, access to quality education and healthcare, and opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities. Our program is built on a foundation of compassion, respect, and advocacy for the children we serve, and we strive to ensure that every child feels valued and supported throughout their time with us. I am constantly inspired by the resilience and strength of the children in our program, and it is an honor to be a part of their journey towards a brighter future.
